Dawn Marie Samuels

February 28, 1972 — October 18, 2023

Dawn Marie Samuels was born Dawn Marie Huber on February 28, 1972 to Linda Hamilton and the late Frank Huber. She attended Mount Carmel School through 8th grade, Holy Cross High School her freshman year and graduated from Doss High School 1990.

On June 1st 1987, a young man she had known for six months asked her out on a date, over thirty-six years later they were still together. Dawn and Dale Samuels were married on August 18, 1990 at the Church of Our Lady. They purchased a house in Valley Station and Dawn made it into a home.

In late December of 1991, she found her true calling in live when she became a mother and stay at home mom. She raised five amazing children and was "Super Mom" volunteering to work at school functions, chaperoning field trips, hauling band instruments in her SUV, attending ball games, Quick Recall matches, marching band competitions, award ceremonies and countless other events for her kids. She encouraged and enabled them to be and do their absolute best and her efforts are evident today in the wondeful people they have become. Her devotion to her family was constant and complete.

Over the next years, her love and caring spread to three grandchildren and she became "Gammy". She loved being a grandmother and was constantly on the lookout for toys, clothes and games for them.

Dawn was affectionately known to everyone as "Miss Dawn", a term of endearment given to her by her husband when they were dating. Miss Dawn not only doted on her husband and children, she was also an amazing hostess and every guest that came to her home was treated to delicious food and hospitality. She crafted every menu to be sure that her guest had something they would enjoy. The holiday feasts she prepared for family and friends are legendary and she labored over each detail to ensure it was perfect, and it always was.

Dawn leaves a legacy of love, devotion and acts of kindness that touched so many lives. She will be forever loved and forever missed by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing her.

Dawn is survived by her husband of 33 years, Brian "Dale" Samuels; sons, Brian Samuels, Jr., William Samuels, and Jared (Sherry) Samuels; daughters, Loryn (Patrick) Baker and Ellianne (Tyler) Dockery; granddaughter, Kitt Baker; grandsons, Lucas Baker and Henry Samuels; mother, Linda Hamilton; step-father, Ray Hamilton; brother, Chris (Lisa) Huber; mother-in-law, Carolyn Samuels (Paul Samuels, deceased); sisters-in-law, Paula Samuels and Donna (Steve) Gott; brother-in-law, Daren (Alicia Proffitt) Samuels; nieces, Rachael (Seth) Jones, Candice (Andrew) Himes, Ashley Huber; nephews, Gregory (Allie) Gott, Beau (Darla) Gott, Alex Huber; great-nieces, Caroline Jones and Ellen Gott; great-nephews, Max Jones, Theo Himes, and Elias Himes; cousins, Joe and Debbie Culver.
