David Kent Strange, 63, of Corydon, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2019. David was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army that served during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the Bonnie Sloan American Legion and the Hobart Beach VFW Post 1693, both of New Albany. He was a member of the Corydon Chapter of Alcoholics Anonymous in which he recently celebrated his 14th year of sobriety. David was an AVID Indiana University Basketball Fan, liked watching NASCAR, and enjoyed time with his family.
He was born on November 17, 1955, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Merris and Agnes (Wade) Strange. Along with his parents, David is preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Jennifer Renee Huff; brother, Larry Strange; and brother-in-law, Al Alexander.
David is survived by his siblings, Sharon Strange, Rhonda Alexander, and Patrick Strange; two nieces, Kay (Mike) Geswein and Patty Crotchett; two great-nieces, Aspen and Aubryn; stepchildren, Lora (Tony) Missi and Wesley (Stacia) Huff; step-granddaughters, Kayla and Kelsey Duncan; companion, Sheila Cook; and his ex-wife and friend, Marietta Strange.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2019, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany. His Funeral Service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with burial and military honors to follow at Smedley Church of Christ Cemetery in Salem, Indiana.
