David Nelson Hatfield, 63, passed away on July 5, 2013. He worked at Marley Cooling Tower Company for 33 years and then worked for Union Tools. He enjoyed refinishing furniture and doing upholstery. David was very active in his neighborhood and loved taking Sheba, his dog, on visits around the neighborhood. He took pride in working in his yard and woodworking. He was an Army Veteran and served in the Vietnam War. He was the unofficial chauffeur for his daughter Cheyenne and her friends participating in all of their fun and adventures.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Danetta Hatfield; daughter, Davetta Cheyenne Hatfield; 3 children from a previous marriage; David Hatfield, Angela Hatfield, and Tammy Hatfield; sisters, Linda Rodan, Johnielynne Whitaker; brother, Jimmy Hatfield; half-sister, Kitty Smith; a half-brother; Mike Hatfield; niece, Katie Whitaker; nephew, Roger Dale Foster and many co-workers and friends.
His visitation will be Thursday, July 11, 2013, from 9am-11am at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY and the funeral service, Thursday at 11am with burial following at Kentucky Veteran Cemetery in Radcliff, Ky, 2501 N. Dixie Blvd.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Danetta Hatfield in memory of David Hatfield.
