David Louis Morrison, Sr., 76, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024.
He was born on November 4, 1947 in Lebanon, Kentucky. David proudly served our country during the Vietnam War while enlisted in the U.S. Army. Over the years he worked for Pepsi Cola, Dixie Beer and eventually retired after 30 years from Anheuser-Busch. After retirement, David enjoyed spending time with his family, going to car shows, watching sports; especially baseball, college and high school basketball and NASCAR. In the latest years, David would relax at home and enjoy watching TV; becoming the self proclaimed " king of the remote control". He leaves behind a hardworking and dedicated legacy that will continue through the ones that loved him the most; his family.
He is preceded in death by his father, James G. Morrison, mother, Clarice D. Wingo, wife of 56 years, Edith Darlene Morrison, brothers in-law , Bobby Chism, Wallace Cook, Jr., and Randy Cook, and his cousin , George Burress.
David is survived by his loving children, David L. (Melissa) Morrison, Jr., Jimmy (Amy) Morrison, and Tammy (Rusty) French, grandchildren, David Morrison, III, Emily Morrison, Logan French, Ayden French and Reesa Morrison, great grandsons, Ian Gasper and Landon Morrison, siblings, Brenda (Don) Anthony, Maridene (Dave) Parr and Lynn (Greg) Phipps, sisters in-law, Eula Chism, Marie (Steve) Hardenbrook and Karen Cook, brother in-law, Don (Mary) Cook and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday, January 14th at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 4:00 pm on Sunday, at the funeral home.
David's service will be livestreamed at the scheduled service time.
