David Carl Maurer

David Carl Maurer, 67, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed peacefully in his home on Thursday, March 16, 2023.

Dave was born on April 12, 1955, to Carl and Margaret (Parmenter) Maurer in Fairborn, Ohio. He is a 1973 graduate of Olympia High School. On May 21, 1977, he married Ruth (Brinkmann) Maurer and went on to have four children, Sheila, Bradley, Bridget (Daniel) Hardesty, and Carla. He was a loving grandfather to three grandsons, Brandon, Liam, and Seth.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother. He is survived by his wife, mother, children, and sisters, Mariann Thomas (John) of Wasilla, Alaska, and Debbie Phillips (Ed) of Perry, Illinois; his brother, Donald of Hopedale, Illinois; as well as uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Dave is remembered as a hard worker and provider for his family, as well as a faithful deacon in his church. He enjoyed watching Green Bay Packers football and spending time with his family and was a loyal friend. Dave was known for his sense of humor and quiet demeanor.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will continue from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 24, 2023, at First Baptist Church of Jeffersonville (2402 East 10th Street, Jeffersonville, Indiana). His Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery.
