David Lee Underwood

David Lee Underwood, 48, of Pekin, Indiana passed away on Monday evening, December 6, 2010 at his home. He graduated from Pekin Eastern High School in 1981, and was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Salem, Indiana. David was a former employee of General Auto and enjoyed working on cars. David loved his family, being a devoted husband, father, brother, and son.

He was born on October 17, 1962 in New Albany, Indiana to Leo Roy Underwood and the late Martha (Schmidt) Underwood. David was also preceded in death by his sister, Vickie Lee Underwood.

David is survived by his wife of 28 years, Ellen (Muntz) Underwood; daughter, Rachel Underwood; sisters, Sharon Ward and her husband, Stanley of Pekin, Becky Ledbetter of Salem, Indiana, Denise Sowder and her husband, Terry of Salem; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

His visitation will be from 3 PM to 8 PM on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Newcomer Funeral Home – Southern Indiana Chapel (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana) and from 9 AM to 11 AM on Friday December 10, 2010 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Salem, Indiana (208 South Shelby St.). The Funeral Mass will be 11 AM on Friday, December 10 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Salem with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
