David Richard Harrah, Sr.

David Richard Harrah Sr., 77, of Brooks, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 8, 2022 at home surrounded by his family.
He was born on January 26, 1945 in Backus, West Virginia to the late David and Mary (Sawyer) Harrah. He is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Carolyn Ann Harrah and sisters Nadine and Loretta.
David proudly served our country in the United States Army from 1966-1971. He retired from General Electric where he was a proud Union Employee.
He enjoyed his family, playing poker with them at family gatherings, watching NASCAR and horse racing.
He is survived by his loving sons, David Richard Harrah, Jr., Paul L. Harrah, brother, Leon Harrah; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; cousins and a host of family and friends.
A farewell gathering will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, July 15, 2022 at Newcomer Cremation, Funerals & Receptions East Louisville Chapel, (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).
Memorials may be made to Hosparus or the WHAS 11 Crusade for Children.
