David Wayne "Nugget" Greenwell Jr.

David Wayne "Nugget" Greenwell Jr., born on March 19, 1977, passed away on February 12, 2025. He was a man who brought laughter and love into the lives of those who knew him. Known for his infectious sense of humor, David cherished every moment spent with his family and friends, creating memories that will forever be held dear.

An avid outdoorsman, David found joy in fishing, hunting, and playing in the creeks of Starlight. He loved embracing the beauty of nature and all it had to offer. His love for his dogs was evident, as he regarded them not just as pets but as family members who enriched his life. 

David leaves behind his wife, Christina Greenwell, as well as his children, Hannah Greenwell and David W. Greenwell III. He is also survived by his parents, David W. Greenwell Sr. and Janice Greenwell. David's sisters, Tammy Greenwell (Vernon), Angie Adams (Mitchell), Stephanie McCoy (Damon), and Stacie Greenwell (Stephen), will carry forward his memory with love and affection. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews-Benny, Audriana, Noah, Brooke, Jade, Blake, Edith, and Nora-as well as a great-niece, Aurora, all of whom had the privilege of knowing his caring spirit.

David is preceded in death by his nephew, Christopher Ryan Adams, whose memory lives on in the hearts of his family.

As we celebrate David's life, let us remember his humor and the love he held for his family and friends. He will be greatly missed but his memory will live on through them.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, at the funeral home. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral services.
