David Anthony Foley

David Anthony Foley, 64, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, formerly of Bloomingdale, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024. David was a 1978 graduate of Wintersville High School and Jefferson County Vocational School in Ohio. He was a retired Heavy Equipment Operator for Operating Engineers I.U.O.E. Local #18 and I.U.O.E. Local #132. Along with his wife, he fostered over 100 children for the State of Ohio/Jefferson County. David's younger years were filled with shooting pool, playing softball, baseball, golf and poker.

He was born on January 3, 1960. He is preceded in death by his father, Harry Foley; step-mother, Helen Foley; step-father, Arthur Prosperi Jr.; step-sister, Linda LaRubbio; and step-brother, Timothy Hauck.

David is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Janet (McGrew) Foley; daughter, Jennifer (Jeremy) McNear; mother, Patricia Prosperi; siblings, Daniel (Dianna) Foley and Kimberly (Kent) Howell; step-siblings, Gina (John) Beavers and Michael Hauck; and grandchildren, Hayleigh (Luke) McNear and Kamron McNear.

Cremation was chosen following David's wishes and a memorial service will be held in Ohio at a later date. Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN) was entrusted with his care.
