David Dean

David Dean, age 67 of Louisville, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2022. David Dean, born to the union of Evelyn V. Spencer and Webb Spencer on August 18, 1954 in Lynch, Ky. David was a graduate of Cumberland high and earned a bachelor of Music Education from U of K where he was an active member of PHI MU ALPHA fraternity. He later attended U of L earning a degree in higher education. David was employed by JCPS for over 30 years where he taught music and band. He gave private lessons to a host of kids and adults. David also served as a Basketball coach for Jacob elementary school and several churches in the city. He was the announcer for the boy's baseball game as well as the neighborhood block dads. Dave is a charter member of the Canaan Christian Church where he served as a Deacon for ten or more years. He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers, Jesse Spencer, Webb Dean Jr. and Pierre Spencer.

David is survived by Rodenia, his loving wife of 44 years. They were blessed with two sons. David Anthony (Maya) and Nicolaus (VaRahnica); three grandsons, Isaiah, Shawn and Yennesys; two granddaughters Aniya and Corrinne, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 9 to 11am on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Canaan Christian Church 2840 Hikes Ln, Louisville, KY 40218, with a celebration of David's life to follow at 11am. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
