David Edward Collins, 44, an incredible husband, father, son, and brother of Greenville, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2021. He graduated from Lanesville High School in 1995 and soon after began a 24-year career as an ironworker. David was an employee of Padgett, Inc. in New Albany and a proud member of the brotherhood, Local 70.
He was extremely talented and capable of doing anything he put his mind to. David was a man of deep faith, selfless and giving almost to a fault. He loved working out and training with his son, Luke, and was always supportive of his daughters, Ava and Laynie, and Blake's interests and activities. David enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends. He was an avid fan of the Kentucky Wildcats.
He was born on November 6, 1976, in New Albany to Ronald and Linda (Burgan) Collins. In addition to his parents, David is survived by his wife, Tiffany (Effler) Collins; children, Ava, Blake, Laynie, Luke Collins, and Donovan Beaven; sister, Cheryl Windell (Jeff); nieces, Karsyn, Ella, and Anniston Windell; and countless brothers of the Local 70 community.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald "Lanny" Collins, Jr.; and grandparents, Hirstle and Bernice Henson and Arthur, Sr., and Elsie Collins.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Friday after 9:00 a.m. at Graceland Baptist Church (3600 Kamer Miller Road, New Albany). His funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the church with burial to follow at Wolfe Cemetery in Georgetown, Indiana.
