David "Dave" Dwight Casey, Sr., 71, of Louisville, Kentucky, departed from this world on January 14, 2025. His passing leaves a profound void in the lives of those who loved him dearly.

Dwight was more than just a name; he was a devoted husband, a loving father, a cherished papaw, a proud son, brother, and a loyal friend. Known for his wit and humor, he was truly the life of the party, bringing joy and laughter to every gathering. Dwight honorably served in the United States Army for four years, a testament to his commitment and strength.

In his spare time, Dwight found solace in the treasures of life; whether it was immersing himself in horror and crime movies, strumming the strings of his guitar, or savoring good food, as well as hosting barbecues with friends and family, he embraced every moment. His presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Born on May 31, 1953, in Louisville, Kentucky, he was the son of JC and Ertie (Coots) Casey. Dwight was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Fleta Casey, his son, David Dwight Casey, Jr., and his brothers, Terry and Danny Casey.

Though he has left this earthly realm, Dwight's spirit lives on in the hearts of those he cherished. He is survived by his loving daughter, Melissa (David); his brothers, Gerald and Bruce Casey; and his grandsons, Gary (Alex) Gaines and Jared Casey, along with many other family members and friends who will forever treasure his memory.

A burial service will be arranged at Bethany Memorial Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky, with details forthcoming.

In honor of Dwight's life, we encourage all who knew and loved him to share their memories or leave a heartfelt message for his family in the guestbook below. His legacy of love and laughter will undoubtedly resonate for years to come.
