Darrell Hill, Sr.
April 1, 1939 — February 10, 2012
Darrell Ray Hill, Sr., passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2012. Darrell was a U. S. Navy veteran and a retired carpenter. An avid camper and fisherman, he was a member of St. John's Pentecostal Church in Georgetown, Indiana.
Darrell was born on April 1, 1939 in Lanesville, Indiana to the late Frank and Martha (Deuser) Hill. He is also preceded in death by his son, Larry Hill; brothers, Robert, Wilbert, and David Hill; sister, Jean Ledbetter; and granddaughter Hannah Hill.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 34 years, Diana (Peterson) Hill; children, Patricia "Pat" Dixon (Vernon), Pamela Fuchs (Danny), Lynn Burnett, Darrell Hill, Jr. (Missy Coyle), Christopher Hill (Lori Brown), and Briana Hill (Charles Payton); sisters, Kathleen Medcalf, Marilyn Miller (Pat), and Joyce Condra; brother, Paul Hill (Barbara); 22 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
His visitation will be 12 to 6 PM on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be at 11 AM on Monday, February 13, at the funeral home followed by military honors and burial at St. John's Pentecostal Church Cemetery in Georgetown.
