Danny Leroy Plyler
August 28, 1946 — January 16, 2016
Danny Leroy Plyler, 69, passed away on January 16, 2016. He was a proud Marine Force Recon veteran who served during Vietnam and was very proud to serve his country. He was a retired police officer of St. Matthews and Jefferson County. Danny was an avid hunter and enjoyed carpentry for friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Plyler.
He is survived by his children, Dawn Hutcherson, Danny (Beth) Plyler, Tracie (Shannon)Caudill, Craig (Brenda) Plyler, Brandy (Brian) DeSpain, Todd Plyler, Allyson Jarred; 13 grandchildren; mother, Norma Jean Plyler; sisters, Pat (Terry) Steinrock, Donna (Mark) Schank and Connie Miller; nephews, Travis Schank and Donnie Hudnall
Visitation for Daniel will be Sunday, January 24, 2016, from 12pm-6pm at Newcomer Funeral Home SW (10304 Dixie Highway) and Monday, January 25, 2016, from 2pm-8pm at the chapel of Newcomer Funeral Home SW. A celebration of Danny's life will be Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at 12pm at the Newcomer Funeral Home SW.
Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-Central, 2501 N Dixie Blvd, Fort Knox, KY 40121.
The family asks that expressions of sympathy be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 or Supporting Heroes, Inc. 10440 Bluegrass Parkway, Louisville, KY 40269
