Danny L. Goff, a respected stainless steel welder and beloved member of his community, passed away on September 30, 2024 in Louisville, Kentucky, at the age of 75. Born on March 5, 1949, in Bardstown, Kentucky, Danny lived a life marked by dedication, skill, and unwavering love for his family.

His career as a stainless steel welder earned him a reputation as one of the finest in the United States, recognized by construction companies across the nation. Danny's hands shaped not only metal but also the lives of those around him, leaving an indelible mark through his work and dedication to his craft.

Danny proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from February 1969 to February 1971, achieving the rank of Corporal. His service was distinguished with numerous honors, including the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Star, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Expert Rifle Badge, and a Sharpshooter Pistol badge. These accolades reflect not only his bravery but also his commitment to serving others.

Danny was known for his warm personality, respected and loved by everyone who knew him. He had a green thumb, finding joy in nurturing his garden, and his hobbies were a testament to his nurturing spirit. He brought life to every space he tended, sharing these moments of beauty with friends and family.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Melissa L. Goff; their children, Rachel L. Patterson and Ellen Nicole "Nikki" Crawley; grandchildren Cody N. Pond, Brandon Austin Phillips, Tristen D. Phillips, MaKenzie R. Harrison, Mackenzie Patterson, Lance T. Patterson, and Braylen Cole Calhoon; great-grandchildren Bradyn Pond, Zachary Miller, Levi Harrison, and Eleanor Miller; brothers Don Koppel and his wife, Lynn, Ron Koppel and his wife, Sharon, Keith Koppel, Newman Koppel, and George Koppel III and his wife, Judi; sisters Michelle Koppel and Marilena Wertz and her husband, Daryl; sisters-in-law Darlene Goff and Kathy Goff; brothers-in-law Bill Kleier and Greg Browning; and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Danny was preceded in death by his daughters Dina Goff and Yvonne Reedy; father, Hilliary Barry Goff, Sr.; mother, Eula (Watson) Koppel; step-father, George Koppel, Jr.; brothers Hilliary "Barry" Goff, Jr. and William "Larry" Goff; sisters Janet Kleier and E. Angela "Angel" Browning; 3 nieces; 2 nephews, and 1 great nephew.

A visitation in honor of Danny L. Goff will be held on Wednesday, October 9th, 2024 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Newcomer, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY. A Mass will take place at St. Edward Catholic Church, located at 9608 Sue Helen Dr, Louisville, KY, the following day, Thursday, October 10th, 2024, at 10:00 am, followed by inurnment at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, 2501 N Dixie Blvd, Radcliff, KY. 

In lieu of flowers, friends are invited to send potted plants or plant a tree in Danny's memory.
