Daniel Sumner, Jr., 29, of Rose Hill, Kansas, passed away on Monday, February 3, 2020. Daniel was a 2009 graduate of Floyd Central High School and Prosser Vocational with career focus in HVAC. He served in the United States Air Force as an HVAC technician since 2009. Daniel was a lover of music, hunting, video games, spending time with family, and grabbing a drink with his friends. He was an avid "light-hearted" prankster and loved a good laugh.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Nicole Sumner; son, Elias Sumner; daughter, Ariya Sumner; father, Daniel Sumner, Sr.; mother, Lisa Collard; stepfather, Gary Walker; stepbrother, Taylor Walker; sisters, Christian Gentry, Kayla (Gabriel) Magness, and Savannah Sumner; and grandfather, Leon Collard, Sr; along with countless aunts, uncles, and cousins. Daniel is preceded in death by grandparents, Janet Collard, Ray Sumner, and Carmen Sumner.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Daniel will be laid to rest with full military honors at New Albany National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, February 14, 2020.
