Daniel Ray Stallings

Daniel Ray Stallings, 60, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2018. Dan was a member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church where he enjoyed singing in the choir. He was an active alumnus at Murray State University where he played football for the Racers and was a proud member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. Dan loved sports and was an avid golfer and runner. He also enjoyed boating and loved spending time with his family. Dan will be remembered for his gift of telling stories and his ability to embellish those on occasion.

He was born on August 6, 1958, in Owensboro, Kentucky, and raised in Rockport, Indiana. He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Martha Jo (Briggeman) Stallings.

Dan is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Holley Stallings; daughter, Lindsey Stallings Schiemann (Jon); son, Joshua Stallings; daughter, Kirsten Stallings; siblings, Julie McClellan (David), Ben Stallings (MJ), Kate Stallings, Ben Briggeman (Heather), and Emily Croshere (Austin); grandson, Sebastien Schiemann; and two twin granddaughters on the way.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2018, at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church (5719 St. Mary's Road, Floyds Knobs, Indiana). His Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, immediately following visitation at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church. Per Dan's wishes, he will be cremated and buried in a private ceremony.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Dan's memory be made to St. Vincent de Paul (58 Progress Way, Maryland Heights, Missouri 63043-3706) or the Norton Cancer Institute (234 East Gray Street, Suite 450, Louisville, Kentucky 40202).
