Daniel Owsley

August 15, 1948 — June 16, 2014

Daniel N. Owsley, 65, of Clarksville, Indiana passed away on June 16, 2014 at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville, Kentucky. A staff sergeant in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam era, Daniel was a life member of VFW Post 1832 in Jeffersonville. A former employee in IT at Humana, he enjoyed camping, leather and woodworking, and playing the guitar.

Daniel was born on August 15, 1948 in Salem, Indiana to the late Wendell S. and Carrie E. (Temple) Owsley.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary E. (Downs) Owsley; son, Daniel N. Owsley II; daughter, Jennifer M. Owsley; brothers, Dobert T. and Stewart D. Owsley; grandchildren, Tess and Caroline Owsley and Juliana Johnson.

Visitation will be from 10 AM to 4 PM on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Newcomer (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana). His Funeral Service will be at 4PM Saturday at the funeral home with cremation to follow according to Daniel's wishes.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Robley Rex VA Medical Center (800 Zorn Avenue, Louisville, KY 40206) or to the Floyd County Humane Society (215 East Market Street, New Albany, IN 47150).
