Daniel Shane Melcher

Daniel Shane Melcher, 28, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2023. He graduated from New Albany High School in 2012 and was a current employee at University of Louisville Hospital.

He was born on May 10, 1994, in Jeffersonville to Carl and Carol (Ruth) Melcher. In addition to his parents, Daniel is survived by his grandmother, Pearl Melcher; siblings, Chad Melcher (Jill), Amanda Jones (Tony), and Katie Lock (David); nephew, Spencer; nieces, Ava, Sydney, Callie, and Hazel; many aunts, uncles, cousins, good friends, and co-workers; and his beloved furbabies, Killian and Cash.

Daniel was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arthur Melcher and Robert and Betty Ruth.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church (415 E. 8th Street, New Albany) with cremation to follow.
