Daniel Lee Hill, 60, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023.
He was born on October 10, 1962 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Donald and Elizabeth (Dittmeier) Hill. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Hill.
Dan was devoted dad, grand dad and brother, who opened his heart and home to many people during his life. He loved people unconditionally; his smile was contagious and his laugh will echo in the hearts of those who knew him. Dan was a skilled construction worker who ran his own business for many years. Many of the houses you see in Old Louisville his hands helped to build. He enjoyed working with wood in his later years and spending time with his family. He has left behind many beautiful wooden creations and poems for his family to cherish.
Dan is survived by his loving daughter, Courtney (Shane) Schlatter, daughter, Ashley Wilkes, grandchildren, Joanna Schlatter, Noah Schlatter, Elexa Hill and Clair Schlatter, sisters, Donna, Debbie, and Dawn Hill, along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends that he treated as family.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 25th from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm at Riverside Baptist Church (4317 Lees Lane, Louisville, KY 40216). The family will be celebrating his life from 3:00 -4:00 pm at the church and then welcome people to stay a share a meal with them between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm.
