Daniel Handley, 81, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023.
He was born on July 7, 1941 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Wilber and Verdie (Beard) Handley.
Dan grew up in the Highland Park neighbourhood of Louisville. He never met a stranger, and he loved telling stories about his own adventures or those of others. He had a passion for history, fishing, knives, and classic country music. He was gregarious, giving, and his sense of humour and his comedy were legendary among those who knew him.
Dan worked on, built, and sold cars. He owned and operated a successful painting contractor business and later worked and retired from the mortgage industry. Whatever he did in both his professional and personal life, he did it with style, finesse, and with high levels of quality.
Dan Handley was in the top percentile of the only 38% of Dans that are, in fact, "the man". This was verified and certified.
Dan is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Debbie Handley, son, Mark Handley, granddaughters, Sydney Handley, Madison Handley, and sister-in-law Lisa Kent.
A Celebration of Dan's Life will be held at a later date please check the website for updates.
