Daniel Gregory "Dan" Halak, 57, of New Albany, passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2012.
Dan was born on February 6, 1955 to Evelyn (Huff) Halak & the late John Gregory Halak. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and worked for the Army Core of Engineers for many years. Dan was united in marriage on April 22, 1978 to Brenda Ann Bostock, and to this union brought one son to bless their home. He joined the Free & Accepted Masons Falls Lodge #749 and was raised to the degree of Master Mason on January 20, 1989. Dan will not only be missed by his family, but by his large amount of friends that he cared dearly for.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Halak; son, Anthony Halak; mother, Evelyn Halak; grandson, Damion Halak; brother, David King, Sr.; brothers-in-law, Richard, Douglas (Valerie), & Scott (Tina) Bostock; sisters-in-law, Nikki King (Wayne), & Linda Haas; mother-in-law, Evelyn "Lilly" Bostock. Along with his father, he is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Robert "Bob" Bostock; and uncle, John Rittman.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 PM on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Masonic Services will be at 7 PM on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date in New Albany National Cemetery with full military honors being conducted.
