Daniel R. Abell Sr.

Daniel "Danny" R. Abell Sr., 71, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023. Danny was a great father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He was a Vietnam Veteran, car enthusiast and was a founding member of Louisville Street Rods. Danny will truly be missed by anyone and everyone who knew him.

He was born on September 17, 1951 in Louisville, Kentucky to Joseph and Vernetta (O'Daniel) Abell. He is preceded in death by his Father, Joseph Carl Abell and Mother, Vernetta Abell.

Danny is survived by his loving family, Children, Rebecca Abell and Daniel Roy (Savannah) Abell, Jr.; Grandchildren, Allison (Donnie) Rand and Lincoln Abell; Siblings, Nancy Black, Joseph (Betty) Abell, and Victoria Abell, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, February 20, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 6:00 pm on Monday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with the burial of his cremated remains to follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery (Central) on February 28, 2023 at 12:30pm. We will be meeting here at the Funeral home that same day at 11:30am to drive in procession to the cemetery and leaving no later than 12:00pm.

The family requests that contributions in Danny's memory be made to Kentucky Veterans Administration.
