On Wednesday June 13th 2024, the late Dan Frederick Woodford was called home after a long illness. He is now playing the violin for the greatest orchestra of all time. Leaving behind a loving wife of 29 years, Carole Casey Woodford and their beloved pet Ziva. Dan also leaves behind 3 sons Jeff Woodford, Craig Horstman, Matthew Horstman, a stepdaughter Stacie Allen, many grandchildren, nephews and nieces and many other friends and family whom he loved dearly. He will be missed.
He was born in Evansville Indiana on April 13th 1942 to the late Charles and Opal Woodford.
Dan was an accomplished violinist and played the violin for several Orchestras and was an accompanist for stars such as Doris Day, Dionne Warwick and many others he mentioned from time to time. Music was a significant part of his life that he and the love of his life, Carole, shared. Dan was involved in helping his community by volunteering for elections and for several years, played in the orchestra of his church, Southeast Christian.
A celebration of life will be held at Southeast Christian Church (920 Blankenbaker Pkwy) in the Fireside Room on Saturday, July 27th, 2024. Visitation will start at 10am with a Memorial Service at 11am.
