Damon Troy Johnson, 49, was born at St. Anthony's Hospital on July 31, 1974, to Kay F Johnson and the late Louis Williams in Louisville, Kentucky. He departed this life on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Norton Clark Hospital, Jeffersonville, Indiana.
He graduated from Ballard High School. Known as "Biscuit" by his football team, the Ballard Bruins, Damon was an offensive lineman and defensive tackle. Damon was a football enthusiast playing from peewee through high school. His favorite NFL team was the San Francisco 49ners. Damon also had a love/hate affection for the University of Louisville Cardinals often referring to them as the "Parkway Crows."
Damon attended Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Kentucky. Later, he trained and received his CDL license following in his father's footsteps. He worked for Auto Zone as a delivery driver.
Preceding him in death: Father, Louis Williams: sisters Damita Jones and Deidra Hardy. He is survived by his mother, Kay F. Johnson; sons, Elisha Thompson, Decorey Johnson, and Travis Glenn; brothers, Orlando George (Devonna) of Louisville, Kentucky, and Terry Johnson (Antoinette) of Orlando, Florida; sisters, Evada Davis (Curtis) and Shannon Johnson of Louisville, Kentucky; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm on Wednesday January 31st at Newcomer Funeral Home (10304 Dixie Hwy). A memorial service celebrating Damon's life will begin at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. To leave a message for the family, please press the "Share Memories" tab above.
