Damita Bumphus Jones, 56, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022. Damita was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, first and second mother to many and friend to all.

She was born on December 19, 1965 in Louisville, Kentucky to Lewis Williams and Mary Bumphus. She is preceded in death by her Father, Lewis Elijah Williams, Mother, Mary Willard George, Grandson, Amirron Burkhead, Granddaughter, Amya Hammonds, Brother, Danny O. Tett, and Sister, Deidra Johnson.

Damita is survived by her loving family, Daughter, Quinnisha M. Bumphus, Daughter, Ieisha D. Alexander, Son, Calvin L. Ferguson, Daughter, Reauna B. Workman, Son, Jerome O. Fitch, Daughter, Teauna N. Doneghy, Son, Deanthony W. Glass, Daughter, Concetta L. Howard, Son, Robert L. Barker, Isaiah Toatley, Todd Billingslea, and Daughter, April Hammonds; Grandchildren, Keidra M. Yarnell, Kedrean L. Yarnell, Travis R. Glenn, Christian Howard, and Zorie D. Ferguson; Sister, Willard Ma Johnson, Sister, Evata Davis, Brother, Orlando George, Brother, Damon Johnson, Sister, Diana Keelin, Sister, Sherry Middleton, Sister, Cheryl Wilcox, Sister, Janice Billingslea, Sister, Kathy Jones, and Sister, Latonia Frazier, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, grandkids, and the tribe called Quest to cherish her loving memories forever.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Her Celebration of Life Service will be at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at Louisville Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
