Daisy F. Black, 78, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023. Daisy was a devoted wife and homemaker. She was married to her husband (Eddie Black Sr.) for 55 years. She loved her family fiercely. Daisy always got a kick out of telling people she was the only girl in her family of six brothers. Daisy was a kind, quiet, good natured person with an excellent sense of humor and was very easy to talk to. Her pantry was always stocked full and she spoiled her grandkids as often as she was able. Spending her spare time enjoying puzzles, games, shopping, and watching the U of L Cardinals play was the norm. She also had a secret love for Legos and was always happy to help the kids put them together. Reading was a huge passion of hers and she had many, many books in her personal library. She was always very trendy and fashionable in both dress and decor, with an eye for fashion and style. Most importantly she loved the Lord. She was never doubtful of His presence in her life.
She was born on April 26, 1945 in Kentucky to Henry and Minnie (Cox) Carey. She is preceded in death by her Husband, Marion Edward Black, Sr., Father, Henry Lee Carey, Mother, Minnie Lee Carey, Great-Granddaughter, Colette Marks, Brothers, Harry, Johnnie, James "Dub", Billy, and Donald Carey.
Daisy is survived by her loving family, Children Donna C. Marks and Eddie (Wendy) Black, Jr.; Grandchildren, Lauren Marks, Steven (Joelle) Marks, and Edward Black; Great-Granddaughters, Alicea and Ariana Marks; Brother, David Carey, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends to cherish her memory forever.
