Courtney Joseph Greener, Jr.

Courtney Joseph "Joe" Greener, Jr., 76, of Lanesville, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023. He had a successful career as an electrician and was an avid outdoorsman. Joe enjoyed spending weekends at his cabin in Perry County and looked forward to his Wednesday night prayer meetings and annual trips out to Wyoming. He collected antique guns and muzzleloaders.

He was born on November 13, 1946, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Courtney, Sr., and Juanita (Hancock) Greener. Joe is survived by his family that he loved deeply, wife of 37 years, Linda (Lamb) Greener; sons, Fred Greener and Trent Greener (Tina); stepdaughters, Dana Stauffer (Chip) and Sandi Jacobson; sister, Sandra McFarland; grandchildren, Jacob Stauffer (Lexi), Bailey Stauffer, Jaxon Stauffer, Braxton Stauffer, Makiah Jacobson, and Cayden Jacobson; and great-grandchildren, Beckham, Stetson, and Easton.

Joe's wish was to be cremated, and Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) was entrusted with his care. The family encourages contributions in his memory be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
