Correna Mae Cox

Correna Mae Cox 90, of Louisville, KY, was called by her heavenly Father to her eternal home on October 9, 2023. She had an intense love for the LORD Jesus and her church family. Correna's greatest and proudest accomplishments were her children and family. She loved gardening, sewing and was a gifted musician and singer. Correna enjoyed family gatherings, especially cooking for them on Thanksgiving and Christmas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dovie Lee Cox; parents, Samuel and Ruthie Cardwell; siblings, Ernest Cardwell, Chester Cardwell, June Cardwell, Cleat Cardwell, Loveina West, Evelyn King; two infant sisters and daughter-in-law, Patricia Cox.

Correna leaves to cherish her memories, her children, David (Linda) Cox, Sherry (Frank) Habich and Timothy Cox; grandchildren, Katrina (Todd) Shannon, Bethany Vincent, Kristen Habich, Deidre (Mike) Deweese, Jennifer Cox, Daniel Cox and Kasandra Habich; great-grandchildren, MaKenzie Shannon, Michael (Katie) Deweese, Kody Shannon, Eric Vincent, Taylor Brown, Kaitlynn Habich, Mikayla Deweese and Scarlett Barnes; great-great grandsons, Easton Deweese and Roman Deweese and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY, from 4pm - 8pm. A celebration of Correna's life will be Friday, October 20, 2023, beginning at 11am.

Correna will be laid to rest at Noah Johnson Cemetery, Morgantown, KY.
