Cornelia Oma "Prissy" (Haines) O'Bannon, 73, of Louisville, Kentucky died on Thursday, October 31, 2013. Cornelia was born on October 1, 1940. She was the first of seven children born to Louis and Mary Haines. She was raised to love Jehovah, and as a result of that training she symbolized her dedication to Jehovah at a young age. Cornelia came to truly appreciate that upbringing as she got older and while she endured her long illness. She was very conscious of pleasing Jehovah in her decisions about her health.
She was a loyal and kind-hearted woman, blessed with the great gift of being an excellent cook. Cornelia enjoyed all sports and most especially her Louisville Cardinals. Cornelia loved her family and she will be missed by all.
She is survived by her son, Ronnie O'Bannon (Karen Slaughter); siblings, Mary Harris, Alice Starr (Gunther), Richard Haines, June Edison (Kenneth), Elaine Haines; Cousins James (Marshale), Christine Holland, grandchildren, Kerron, Khire, Kelen, Kaelin Slaughter, Ronnie Tyshon-O'Bannon, Kobe O'Bannon; great-grandchildren, Javaya Allen, Kamaya, Khaleah, Kamari Slaughter; and a host of nieces and nephews that she dearly loved.
Cremation was chosen following Cornelia's wishes. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, November 16, 2013 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses (4239 Illinois Avenue, Louisville, KY 40213). The family wishes to take this opportunity to thank all who visited, sent cards and letters of encouragement or expressed a kind word.
