Constance "Connie" (Herink) Maples, 72, of Borden, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023. Constance had many talents, including singing, playing piano, and tole painting. She also enjoyed quilting and loved to read.
She was born on January 1, 1951, in Sterling, Illinois, to the late Homer and Margaret (Shell) Herink. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Halleck Maples.
Constance is survived by her brothers, Ron (Judy) Herink and Fred (Karol) Herink; stepdaughters, Sella (Brad) Garlich and Jenny (David) Vordtriede; step-grandchildren, Lucy and Marie Garlich and Vincent, Evelyn, and Marian Vordtriede.
Cremation was chosen in honor of Connie's wishes, and Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions (New Albany, Indiana) was entrusted with her care. Burial will take place at a later date at White Chapel Cemetery in Canton, Illinois.
