Constance Sue Fleming, affectionately known as Connie, passed away on January 18, 2025. She was born on July 28, 1945, in Huntington, West Virginia to the late Theodore Bliffen and Eula Lilly Bliffen.
Throughout her life, Connie displayed a passionate commitment to politics, particularly in her younger years. This dedication not only reflected her intrinsic interests but also served as a hallmark of her later life, where she remained actively engaged with current events. Her unwavering enthusiasm for politics kept her informed and involved, fostering meaningful discussions and connections with those around her.
Connie was also celebrated for her literary talents. As a gifted writer, she achieved recognition for her work, with numerous published pieces that showcased her unique voice and perspective.
She is survived by her three children, Matthew (Michelle) Bartram, Shelly (Steve) Marshall, and Megan Bartram. Connie took great pride in her role as a grandmother to Gabriel Marshall, Abigail Marshall, Madeline Marshall, and Hannah Bartram.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Sandra Stepp; and her brother, William Bliffen.
Connie's legacy will endure through her children and grandchildren, as well as through the impact she made in her community, her written works, and her fervent love of politics. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
Cremation was chosen following Connie's wishes. A Memorial Gathering will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany).
