Conrad "Connie" Snyder Franklin, 93, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on April 21, 2022. Conrad was born in Colp, Illinois to Enoch & Kathleen Franklin on August 16, 1928, and was raised alongside 4 siblings.
Conrad went on to graduate from Herrin High School. He was a trained watchmaker and jeweler, studying Horology (watch making) at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. He went on to meet the love of his life of 63 years, Lois Colp, and together they raised one son. Conrad served in the US Navy on the USS Salisbury Sound (AV-13) during the Korean War. Conrad retired from the Bank of Carterville in Carterville, Illinois.
In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking, making birdfeeders, spending time with his grandkids, and being their number one fan at band events and ballgames.
Conrad is preceded in death by his wife, Lois Franklin; parents, Enoch & Kathleen Franklin; and his siblings, Rilla Haught, Lynwood Franklin, & Dayton Franklin. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving son, Glen (Daphne) Franklin; his two grandchildren, Marisa Franklin & Connor Franklin; his sister, Corann Foy, as well as other relatives and friends who he loved dearly.
Visitation will be held on April 26, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville) from 3:00PM to 7:00PM, with additional visiting hours on April 27, 2022 from 11:00AM to 12:00PM, with service to follow beginning at 12:00PM. Interment will take place following the service at Floydsburg Cemetery (5600 Old Floydsburg Rd, Crestwood, KY 40014).
