Connie Tillman Spaulding Cager boarded that train for Glory on January 22, 2024. Connie was the daughter of the late George Tillman and Viola Sherman Tillman. She is preceded in death by her brother Ernest Tillman.
Connie confessed her love for Christ at a young age and united with the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. She participated regularly in Sunday School, BTU, Vacation Bible School, and in the youth choir. During her adult years she would help out in the kitchen.
Connie was educated in the Jefferson County Public School system and graduated from Eastern High School.
Connie was dedicated to the field of Customer Service as she worked for over 40 years. Connie loved taking care of others and later became a Caregiver to elderly individuals within their home. However, she worked many other jobs but returned to what she loved, providing help to others.
As time went on, Connie fell in love, got married, and moved away from home. She was blessed with three daughters. After living out of state for several years she and her family returned home to Louisville. Connie loved to host different family events when her girls were younger. The cousins also enjoyed spending time at her home, as she was considered a cool Aunt. Connie would organize family holiday activities such as Easter Egg hunts, cook special Connie Surprise recipes, dress up in various costumes all to put a smile on her family's face. If you didn't know, she loved to be the center of attention.
Connie came into this world with a lifetime partner, her twin Bonnie. Connie and Bonnie were not identical but enjoyed dancing, dressing, enjoying various entertainment activities, being adventurous, and witty with words. They would sit back and laugh at each other because if one was sick the other one had the symptoms or side effects. This bond of love can never to forgotten or removed from the heart.
To know Connie was to love her! She had a beautiful smile, a heart of gold, would do anything for anyone, an infectious laugh, great sense of humor, a caring spirit, and with an unquenchable thirst for life pleasures. She loved to give her family members and other people nicknames, which she took such delight in. She was the greatest G-Ma or Gigi to her grandchildren and they each have a story of the crazy things they would do together. The love in her heart for her three daughters, Miea, Parres, and Linease was evident in the relationship they shared. Connie will be greatly missed but her precious memories will forever be in our hearts.
