Collin Yost, 25, of Pewee Valley, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023.
He was born on June 5, 1997 in Louisville, Kentucky to Eric and Amy (Zickefoose) Yost. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Dave Zickefoose, great-grandparents, John and Betty Walker, Sherm Bowser, R. John and Verna Yost and M. Rohrer and Ruth Hershey.
Collin graduated from South Oldham High School in 2015. He was a 3rd year welding apprentice in the UA Local 502.
Collin loved life. He lit up any room that he walked into. He made us laugh every day either with his awful jokes or crazy outfit choices. In almost every picture he had a goofy expression or pose. But behind all the silliness, Collin was the kindest person that you would ever meet. He was always there for his family and friends helping in any way he could. Collin was a sweet, loving, and thoughtful husband to his wife of almost five years. He will be greatly missed, and the world will seem a little less bright without him in it.
Collin is survived by his loving wife, Giovanna Yost, mother, Amy Yost, father, Eric Yost, brother, Phillip Yost (Emily), sisters, Aubrey and Kelsey Yost, grandparents, Gary and Cindy Bowser, Glenn and Kathryn Yost, and Sue Zickefoose, great-grandma, Pat Bowser, uncles, Ned Yost and Dave "DJ"Zickefoose, aunt, Lisa and cousins, Maren and Jack. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Jezabel Hernandez, brothers-in-law, Ben Carpio and Adad Osorio (Anna), sister-in-law, Abby Sanchez, niece, Sophia Osorio, and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until the time of the funeral service 4:00 pm on Friday, February 17, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).
The family requests that contributions in Collin's memory be made to the Kentucky Humane Society in lieu of flowers. Collin loved all animals and got his cat Jade through the KHS; he would love to know that animals were saved in his memory.
Collin's service will be livestreamed at the scheduled service time.
