Clyde Carroll Goodman, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at the age of 91 in Louisville, Kentucky, on December 17th, 2024. Born on May 24th, 1933, in Eastview, Kentucky, Carroll was the cherished son of the late Shack and Lucille Goodman. He was preceded in death by his four siblings, with whom he shared a bond that will forever be remembered.
Carroll is survived by his devoted wife of 71 wonderful years, Ann Goodman, who stood by his side through life’s journeys. He leaves behind a loving family, including his children Don (Debbie) Goodman and Karen (Jack) Money, and his grandchildren Jen (Dan Cassidy) Goodman, Mat Money, Ben (Daniele) Goodman, and Kelly (Jason) Britz. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Ethan, Chloe, Riley, Ryan, and Gavin, who brought immense joy to his life.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, Carroll served his country with honor and pride. He devoted 43 years of his professional life to Ford Motor Company, where his diligence and work ethic shone brightly. Carroll was known as a formidable presence, whose commitment to providing for his family was unwavering.
In his leisure time, Carroll found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. He loved spending time at the lake, boating, playing cards, and enjoying a meal out with family and friends. Carroll and Ann shared a passion for travel, often escaping to Florida during the winters and embarking on adventures in their motor home, creating cherished memories along the way.
The community is invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Thursday, December 26th, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel. A funeral service celebrating Carroll’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday at the same location, followed by his final resting place at Louisville Memorial Gardens West, where he will be laid to rest with honors.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions in Carroll’s memory be made to Hosparus of Louisville.
