Clifford Donald Falkner, age 78 of Goshen, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at the Forum at Brookside Nursing Home. Cliff was born on August 16, 1934 in Dallas, Texas to Mr. and Mrs. Andy Clige and Minnie Mae Rice Falkner. He graduated from the University of Texas in 1956. After graduating from college, he proudly served his country as a Naval Aviator in the United States Navy. Cliff married the love of his life, Margaret Combs Neelly Falkner, on May 25, 1959. He worked hard to provide for his family. After 26 years, he retired from Ford Motor Company, then Cowger and Miller Mortgage Company.
He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, playing golf, attending sports games, and going out on his boat. Even during his battle with Alzheimer's disease, Cliff never lost his easy-going demeanor and sense of humor that made him such a delight to be around. Preceding him in death were his parents and his beloved wife of 43 years.
Cliff is survived by his only brother, Kenneth Falkner of Missouri City, Texas; his six children, Clifford Donald Falkner, Jr. (Linda), Sherri Falkner Romano (Tom), Ron Alan Falkner (Kim), Kim Elizabeth Pitchford (Todd), Jeffrey Eugene Falkner (Rheanne) and Steven Carl Falkner (Ali); and his 15 grandchildren, T.C., Carly, Stephanie, Christina, Nicholas, Brittany, Molly, Zachary, Ashley, Joshua, Addison, Elizabeth, Lucy, Caroline and Meg.
A service honoring the life of Cliff will be held 11am on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive with visitation there from 2-8pm on Friday and after 9:30 am Saturday.
