Clifford Carlton Davis II, 80, of Borden, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2023. Cliff was an avid car collector and probably amassed one of the largest car collections in the area, if not the Southern Indiana region. His passion started as a teenager with restoring antique cars, either to their original condition, or converting them into street rods. Although prizes were never his main goal with his cars, his street rods and Corvettes were shown in many car shows through the years, winning many honors and awards. His collection has been covered in newspapers and once appeared in a street rod magazine. His love of motorsports was not limited to cars or land. He was also the co-owner of Suzuki of Louisville years ago, and he loved boating and spending time at his lake house at Rough River.
He was born on January 19, 1943, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Clifford Davis, Sr., and Mary "Babe" (Kahler) Davis. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Sue (Timberlake) Davis; and stepson, Eric Agnew.
Cliff is survived by his wife, Timi (Brooks) Davis; children, Wendy (Chuck) Davis, Clifford "Trey" (Alison) Davis III, and Jennifer (Critter) Thompson; grandchildren, DJ (Bethany) Lipps, Dylan Lipps, Kahler (Alyssa) Davis, Tylan (Katelin) Davis, Lauren Thompson, and Jacob Thompson; great-grandchildren, Zayn Davis, Xavier Davis, and Trayce Lipps; brother, Larry (Donna) Davis; stepson, Todd Agnew; and many other family members and friends.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana). His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home with entombment to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Clifford's memory to the New Albany-Floyd County Animal Shelter (215 W. Market Street, New Albany, IN 47150).
