Cleophus Battle, 80, of Louisville, KY passed away on June 4, 2014. Cleo was a proud US Army Veteran, serving his country during the Korean conflict. He was a member of the American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans throughout his life.
Cleo was born on July 19, 1933, in Pine Bluff, AR to the late Bennie Battle and Sylvia White. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Linda J. Miles; son, Arthur E. Battle; and sister, Emma Howard.
Cleo is survived by his wife, Rebecca Battle; son, Cleophus Battle Jr. (Kim); daughter, Engelica Battle; granddaughter, Chelsea McCurdy-Battle; grandsons, Kelvin and Brennan Battle; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm Monday, June 9, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home – Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Hwy). Graveside Service will be held Monday at 2:00 pm at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery (Central) in Radcliff, KY.
