Clark Bledsoe, 69, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022.
Clark graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Civil Engineering. He spent his career serving the public through various roles in Public Health and Planning and Zoning with the Jefferson County Government. After retiring from Jefferson County, he started a consulting company, Environmental Planning Inc., and formally retired around 2016.
Outside of work, Clark enjoyed volunteering, being outdoors, traveling, and, above all, spending time with his family. He served as the chairman for Thunder Over Louisville, Mini Marathon, and the Pegasus Parade and volunteered hundreds of hours at various other Kentucky Derby Festival events. He enjoyed hunting, hiking, mowing grass, and generally admiring nature. He and his late wife, Jenene, loved to travel together. They took many road trips, exploring all over the US. They often took their travel trailer to St. George Island in Florida, which became one of their favorite destinations.
Above all, Clark enjoyed being a dad and grandpa. When his children were younger, he served as their sports coach, math tutor, exploring partner, and friend. He was a kind and patient grandpa, the best nap partner, and maker of all the snacks.
Clark is survived by his children, Brenna (Amy) Martinez and Drew (Lindsay) Bledsoe; grandchildren, Rowan Bledsoe, Hudson Bledsoe, Baker Martinez, and Anderson Martinez; siblings, Mary Kay Oesterle, Jim (Sherry) Bledsoe, and Wayne (Cindy) Wright; father-in-law, James Parke; sister-in-law, Pattie (Ray) Doyle; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was proceeded in death by his wife, Jenene Bledsoe; his parents, Mac and Kack Bledsoe; mother-in-law, Runell Parke; and brother-in-law, Clifford Parke.
A Memorial Gathering will be from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Cremation was chosen following Clark's wishes.
