Chris Emil Harvey, age 55, of Louisville, KY, departed this life on December 26, 2012. He was born May 17, 1957, to Johnnie Lee Harvey Foster, who preceded him in death, and Claudette Barbour Harvey Foster, in New Albany, Indiana. Constance, a sibling, preceded Chris in death.
Chris is survived by son Damien, and siblings Valerie, LaTonya, Leslie, Brian, Kevin, Terrence, Adriane, Heather, Deric, Eric, Reginald, Stacy, and Sherrell. He is also survived by long-time companion, Carolyn Ryan. Chris also loved and is survived by a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Chris accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and was a member of Revelation Tabernacle Church in New Albany, Indiana. Chris served in the United States Army in Baumgarten, Germany from 1976 to 1979, and was honorably discharged. While in the Army, he received his high school equivalency certificate and later attended Jefferson Community College in Louisville, KY. Afterwards, Chris worked briefly at IBM in Lexington, KY.
Chris is remembered as a smart, deep thinker, who loved music, and was known as an animated conversationalist. It was not uncommon for him to bring people who were in need to his mother's house for nourishment of the body as well as the soul.
A celebration of Chris' life will be 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive in Middletown, KY. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 3, 2012 at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, KY. with military honors.
