Chester B. Bentley

Chester B. Bentley, 85, of Corydon, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023. He was a United States Army veteran and retired electrician. Chester enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. He liked listening to music and, in his younger years, playing softball and going bowling.

He was born on October 8, 1937, to Jessie and Sabrina (Yonts) Bentley. In addition to his parents, Chester was preceded in death by his siblings, Alfred Bentley, Leroy Powell, and Debbie Quinn.

Chester is survived by his children, Sereda Chandler (Squire), Monica Jenks (Bob), and Chet Bentley; grandchildren, Brandy Rager (Keith), Jasmine Reff (Matt), Bobby Jenks, Chad Chandler (Jillian), and Todd Chandler (Lisa); 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and sister, Carole Goff.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 22, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and after 9:00 a.m. on Monday. His funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home with burial and military honors to follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Crandall, Indiana.
