Charmaine Mary Upton

Charmaine Mary Upton , 94, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024. Charmaine was a proud member of the Board of Elections Democratic Party in Flushing, New York, St. Michael's Catholic Church in Flushing, New York, and St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Albany, Indiana. She enjoyed politics, singing, going to the Derby, and most importantly spending time with family.

She was born on January 15, 1930 in Manhattan, New York to the late Matel and Irene Logan. She is preceded in death by her two sons, Michael Parker and Edgar Parker.

Charmaine is survived by her loving sons, Gregory (Althea) Parker and Anthony Upton; grandchildren, Gregory, Korin, Terence, Adeena, Michael, Michel, Angela, Christopher, Christina, Edgar Jr., and Alexander; several great-grandchildren; and cousin, Gwen Scott.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 31, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Mass will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church, (415 E 8th St., New Albany), on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow at West Haven Cemetery in New Albany, Indiana.

The family requests that contributions in Charmaine’s memory be made to Disabled and Paralyzed Veterans.
