Charlie Sievert, 79, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023.
He was born on April 28, 1944 in Louisville, Kentucky to Raymond and Mary Sievert. Charlie was a 1962 graduate of DeSales High School. He was a proud veteran of the United States Coast Guard, and also a retired as a Lt. Colonel with Highview Fire Department. He also served with Camp Taylor Fire Department for many years. Charlie was a member of Southeast Christian Church where he worked after retirement. Charlie had a love for horses, especially his Rocky Mountain Sadie. He was also an avid UofL Basketball Fan. Charlie was a well loved father, Pap, brother, and friend who will be dearly missed by many.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joe Sievert; and his infant brother, Michael Sievert.
Charlie is survived by his daughters, Kim Haberle (Mike) and Shelia Ruckriegel (David); sons, Chuck Sievert and Michael David Sievert; grandchildren, Michael Haberle (Jessica), Tayler Reid (Alex), Kristina Staton (Teddy), Ashley Nalley, Jericka Cecil (Chad), Chelsey Sievert, Austin Sievert (Megan), Morgan Wolfe (Kyle), Brock Ruckriegel, Michael Sievert, Jr, Lauren Reed (Cody), and Gina Critelli; numerous great grandchildren; and sister, Mary Ann Elzy (Jack).
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - East Louisville, (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243). His Funeral Service will follow at 5:00 pm on Saturday, at the funeral home.
Burial with Military Honors will be held on Friday, June 30th at 11:00 am at Grove Hill Cemetery, 458 Mt. Eden Road, Shelbyville, Kentucky 40065.
