In Loving Memory of:
Charles "Chuck" William Atherton, 83, born October 25, 1929, returned to his Heavenly Father Wednesday, September 4, 2013. He was a member of Highland Park 1st Baptist Church. He was retired from Zayre's Department Stores. He loved to fish, play golf and spend time with his family. Another one of his joys was traveling with his family.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Virginia "Jenny" L. Atherton.
Chuck leaves to cherish his memories 4 daughters; Becky (John) White, Linda (Tom) Mohler, Pat (Joe) Galik, and Karen (Tom Fentress) Gentry; grandchildren, Tina (Mike) Nelson, Mary Herald, Trisha (J.R.) Todd, Ben Galik, Libby (fiance Thomas) Galik, Buddy Galik, Jesse (Jamie) Gentry, Krystal (fiance Codey Kennell)Fentress, Melissa Fentress, Leanna (Mike) Fentress and Aaron Fentress; great-grandchildren, Courtney, Christie, Jesse James, Sabrine, Dylan, Skylar, A.J. and Joey; brother Robert (Naomi) Atherton, sister-in-law, Ruth (Jim) Larkins and many other family and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 7th, from 1pm-8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home Southwest Chapel,10304 Dixie Highway and Sunday, September 8th from 11am-2pm with the funeral following at 2pm at the funeral home.
