Charles W. Swank, Sr.

Charles W. "Corky" Swank, Sr., 62, passed away peacefully on Tuesday afternoon, September 21, 2010. Corky worked in construction and was a member of both the Plasterers' and Carpenters' Unions. He enjoyed boating and fishing and was a wonderful and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

Corky was born on April 9, 1948 in Jeffersonville, IN to the late Charles E. and Joyce M. (Hessig) Swank. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Sally Shepherd.

He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Valerie J. (Sieg) Swank; children, Charles W. Swank, Jr. (Alicia) of Elizabeth, R. Anthony "Tony" Swank (Jessica) of Henryville, IN, Russell H. Foushee of Clarksville, IN, and N. Bruce "Bub" Foushee of New Albany, and Eric W. Foushee of Nabb, IN,; siblings, Nancy Shepherd (Yogi) of Ft. Wayne, IN, Albert Swank (Donna) of Scottsburg, IN, Lynn Mialback of Jeffersonville, Russell Swank (Laura) of Clarksville; uncles, Harry and Sonny Hessig, and aunt, Lois Jones (Warren) all of Jeffersonville; brother-in-law, Bob Shepherd; and 7 grandchildren.

Memorial contributions in Corky's memory may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or your local dialysis center.

Cremation was chosen following Corky's wishes. Newcomer Funeral Home – Southern Indiana Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
