Charles "Wade" Smith, 56, loving husband, father and papaw, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2023. He retired from Jeffboat after 30 years of employment. Wade was a jack of all trades, always willing to lend a helping hand.
He was born on May 30, 1967 in New Albany, Indiana. Wade was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Smith, Peggy and Ebbie Lawson.
Wade is survived by his wife of 20 years, Kimberly (Knies) Smith; daughters, JoAnna Bauer (Matthew), Elizabeth Howell (Caleb), Jessica Inlow (Josh), Amanda Moore (Chase); step-mother, Gail Smith; grandchildren, Jasper and Oliver Bauer, Jameson Howell, Noah, Dylan, Madison and Emma Inlow, Hunter and Paisley Moore; one brother and three sisters.
A gathering of family and friends will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 31, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany).
Contributions in Wade's memory may be made to the J.B. Ogle Animal Shelter (201 Willinger Lane, Jeffersonville, IN 47130).
