Charles Ellis Scott, Jr.

Charles Ellis Scott, Jr., 76, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022. He was a 1964 graduate of St. Xavier High School and a 1968 graduate of Bellarmine College. Charlie served eight years in the United States Army Reserves and three years in the Kentucky National Guard.

He was a longtime Boy Scout leader and also helped coach baseball and softball for his children. Charlie had a successful career in banking before retiring and beginning a new career as a dispatcher for the Floyd County Sheriff's Department.

He was born on November 7, 1946, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Charles and Louise (Probst) Scott. In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his son, David. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Donna (Bisch) Scott; son, John Scott; daughter, Kathryn Rein (Mike); granddaughters, Abigail and Lillian; sister, Sr. Rita Scott OSU; and many extended family members.

Charlie's wish was to be cremated, and a reception of family and friends will be from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). He will be laid to rest privately at Calvary Cemetery in Louisville.

Charlie had a courageous ten-year battle with cancer. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
