Charles Robert Ashford

Charles Robert Ashford ,77, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on June 24, 2014. He retired from Ashford Construction Company.

Charles was born on September 30, 1936, in Horse Branch, Kentucky to the late Samuel and Flora Ashford. He was also preceded in death by his lifetime companion, Darlene Hahn; one son, Donnie Ashford; two brothers, Frank and James Ashford; and one sister, Goldie Carolyn Ashford.

Charles is survived by his children, Peggy Sue Brumfield (Hollis), David Ashford, Donald Patterson; grandchildren, Christina Ashford, Holly Brumfield, Donny Ashford (Jacquelyn), Dusty Ashford; great-grandchildren, Cody, Evan, Jeremiah, Cannon, Kimber, Judah; and one sister, Ruby Justice (Ronald).

Visitation will be from 3pm-8pm Thursday June 26, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home (10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville). His Funeral Ceremony will be held at 1pm on Friday June 27, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home-Southwest Louisville Chapel with a private burial to follow at Mount Eden Cemetery.

The family of Mr. Ashford would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Leslie Harris for her personal care and concern during Charles's final time left. Also a special thank you to the Nurses and Staff of Audubon Hospital for their compassion and care that was given to him and his family.
