Charles Rickey Ripley, 70, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024. Charles was a loving and devoted husband, father, Poppy, brother, and friend. He proudly served his country as a tactical medic in the US Army. Charles retired from Mees tile and marble after more than twenty years of service. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing and hosting family barbecues. Charles loved yard sales and finding treasured antiques. He will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
He was born on March 20, 1954 in Louisville, Kentucky to Charles and Dorothy (Geralds) Ripley. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Lee Ripley; mother, Dorothy Mae Rhoden; wife, Norma Ripley; grandsons, Kyle Ripley, Jacob Ripley; and brother, John Rhoden.
Charles is survived by his loving family, sons, Michael S. Ripley, Charles Richard Ripley, Jesse R. (Sarah) Ripley; step-daughter, Ellen White; brother, Ed (Anita) Hollandsworth; sisters, Betty Vincent, Shirley Hancock; as well as a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and friends to cherish his loving memory forever.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 21, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway. A celebration of life will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West in Louisville, Kentucky.
The family requests that contributions in Charles’s memory be made to the Veterans Administration.
